Nagaoka Institute of Design, 2019
In 2009, we created a poster for the Nagaoka Institute of Design (Niigata Prefecture) to advertise the Outline of Design session, a special lecture hosted by the institute for students from different design disciplines, such as product, landscape, and graphic design. Here, the starting point was to pose a question to the students: What is the border of this world, or the outline, in terms of what is to be designed and what’s not? Reflecting this idea, the poster uses the letter “D” with dripping paint. We created the visual with the hope that people would break away from design stereotypes and think more freely about design.
