The “New Year’s Greeting Cards from 100 Creators” exhibition will be held at three Takeo Co. showrooms (Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka) from January 23 (Monday). This is the 18th annual New Year’s event in which New Year’s greeting cards sent to Takeo by creators are shown to the general public. SPREAD’s New Year’s greeting card with this year’s theme “FLOAT” will be exhibited at both the main office of Mihoncho and Yodoyabashi Mihoncho. Please stop by if you are in the neighborhood.

SPREAD in 2023 wants to work while floating lightly around the world. The visuals are made by photographing and processing bark, which looks like the surface of the earth from above or a fluid gas. We use a risograph technique to print in two colors on fine paper “Gmund Color Matte-FS” with an awareness of plate misalignment. This printing process also produced different ink grazes on each sheet, resulting in the expressive work “FLOAT”.
